In 2009, based on the branch of the Republican Scientific Research Center for Atmospheric Air Protection in Astana, a testing laboratory for environmental monitoring was established. It is accredited in the accreditation system of the Republic of Kazakhstan in accordance with the requirements of ST RK ISO/IEC 17025-2007 “General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories” (accreditation certificate No. KZ.И.01.0369 dated February 26, 2009). Currently, within the scope of accreditation, the Center performs the following types of work as part of environmental monitoring:

1. Sampling and chemical analysis of gas samples from industrial atmospheric emissions;
2. Determination of pollutant concentrations in the environment (drinking water, natural water, wastewater, air, soils, and grounds);
3. Measurement of physical factors (noise, vibration, electromagnetic fields, electrostatic field intensity, illumination) and radiometric studies of territories.

History of the laboratory development:

• In 2009, it was first accredited in the accreditation system of the Republic of Kazakhstan according to the requirements of ST RK ISO/IEC 17025-2007 “General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories”;
• In 2012, the scope of accreditation was expanded in Astana;
• In 2014, it was re-accredited in Astana and the structural division in Atyrau;
• In 2014, the scope of accreditation was expanded in Astana and the structural division in Atyrau;
• In 2014, the laboratory was re-accredited according to international ILAC requirements;
• In 2015, the scope of accreditation of the environmental monitoring testing laboratory was expanded, and the laboratory was completely relocated to Atyrau;
• In 2015, the mobile environmental monitoring laboratory was accredited for the first time;
• In 2016, the scope of accreditation of the environmental monitoring testing laboratory was expanded;
• In 2018, the mobile and stationary laboratories were merged and accredited as the Mobile Environmental Monitoring Testing Center.

The Company’s laboratory has all the necessary regulatory, methodological, material, and technical resources, as well as qualified personnel to successfully conduct environmental monitoring at a sufficiently high level.

All methods used in the laboratory for determining the respective components are registered in the State Register of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Laboratory instruments have passed certification and are approved by the Committee for Technical Regulation and Metrology of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the RK, which allows conducting analyses according to approved methods. The laboratory has all necessary conditions for the successful future implementation of modern research methods.
